Chief Solomon Ogbonna has pleaded with the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, to intervene in the arrest of Nwajiagu in order to get him released

The President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos State, Chief Solomon Ogbonna Aguene, has distanced Ndigbo from a recent trending video credited to Eze Ndigbo of Ajao Estate, Eze Fredrick Nwajiagu, threatening to invite the proscribed Indigenous People Of Biafra, IPOB, to secure the properties of Igbo people in Lagos State.

The Eastern Eye Magazine  reports that Chief Aguene also pleaded with the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, to intervene in the arrest of Nwajiagu in order to get him released because he made those unguided utterances and threat out of ignorance and unnecessary pride. He explained that the statement was unfortunate and has nothing to do with Ndigbo living in the state.

Chief Aguene, however, made a passionate appeal to Governor Sanwo-Olu to intervene and ask the security agencies to release him to Aguene so that Nwajiagu will be cautioned seriously in order to avoid such a thing happening in the future.

He stated that Ndigbo are law abiding and hard working people with legitimate means of living, who believe in peaceful coexistence among the host and other ethnic groups in Lagos State and do not associate themselves with any forms of violence.

“Peaceful coexistence among our landlords and chief hosts remains uppermost in our hearts and duty.”

He urged Ndigbo in Lagos to remain law abiding, go about their normal business engagements and continue to live in peace and harmony with other people in Lagos State.

Eze Nwajiagu landed in trouble after the video he recorded went viral on Friday, where he threatened to invite members of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra to secure the properties of Igbo people in the state. The purported video drew the attention of team of the Police and DSS, who stormed his palace in Ajao Estate earlier on Saturday morning. But before then, Nwajiagu had fled. He was later traced and arrested in a hotel at Ejigbo. He had been detained and is undergoing interrogation over his conduct.
