Christian Association of Igbo Ministers CAIM has just concluded a 2 days power packed prayer summit held on 11th and 12th of August, 2022, with the theme ‘New Era’.
The prime attention of the decentralized world Igbo prayer summit is to unite the Igbos’ to deal with forces of limitations in the land.
According to the international president of CAIM, Apostle Dr. Solomon Emeka Okorie, this year’s summit was scheduled to hold in Imo state but was largely decentralized following the poor security state of the nation. His words;
“My Beloved Extraordinary Leaders, “Greetings to all International, National, State, Local Government Chapter leaders and all CAIMITES worldwide, in the exalted name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
“I welcome all of you to the 9th World Igbo Prayer Summit (WIPS), 2022. The theme for this year is: NEW ERA. “Like the 2020 and 2021 WIPS, this year’s WIPS, which was originally scheduled to hold in Imo State, had to be decentralized largely because of the dicey security situation which makes our usual large-scale gathering somewhat risky in the Southeast, especially in Imo State.
“I would like to appeal to all our members to relentlessly pray for the peace of our homeland which has now become a killing field by state and non-state actors. Let the wickedness of the wicked against Ndigbo come to an end, in Jesus name (Psalm 7: 9).
“Considering the plethora of problems confronting Ndigbo at this time, this year’s WIPS should be more of fervent intercessory prayers than talk shop. It is time to collectively cry unto God for a change of narrative and the birth of new era of fulfilled hopes and aspirations for Ndigbo and Alaigbo. I have no doubt in my mind that God will answer our prayer speedily (Isaiah 65: 24; Luke 18: 7 – 8b).
“Between last year’s WIPS and now, we have been able to consolidate on our achievements and also endeavoured to break new grounds. Ebonyi State Chapter of CAIM has been resuscitated after some years of dormancy. A new Exco has been put in place and new members have been registered. The new State Coordinator is Rev. Dr. Hycianth Okey Otu. To God be the glory.
“Similarly, the Abuja Chapter has been expanded with the influx of some Igbo bishops and ministers within the Federal Capital Territory. It is our positive expectation that the Coordinator, Pastor Sunny Davids Onovo, will sustain the momentum. Also, new Local Government Chapters have been established in Imo, Rivers and Anambra States.
” We have also engaged some Igbo stakeholders in furtherance of our mandate. We now have a working relationship with Igbo Gospel Bishops Organization (IGBO). Furthermore, we have embarked on uniting the Alaigbo Gospel Fathers in Enugu and Anambra States. We will also reach out to other States before long.
“I would like to use this medium to inform our members that CAIM Membership Certificates, Ministerial Licenses and Chaplaincy Certificates are still being processed in the United States. We hope to collect them for distribution very soon.
“My sincere thanks go to the WIPS Chairman, the National Officers, State Coordinators, Local Government Coordinators and the various Local Organizing Committees and everyone who worked assiduously in the planning of this year’s WIPS. I urge all our members and leaders to continue to be steadfast in our commitment to the progress of CAIM and Alaigbo in general.
“I wish you all a successful and fruitful WIPS 2022. God bless you all. Long live, Christian Association of Igbo Ministers! Long live, Ndigbo at home and in the Diaspora!! Long live, Alaigbo!!! Apostle Okorie remarked.
